This can involve almost anything, from simple telephone calls to check on vulnerable people to complex disability supporting services.

To give you some idea, I’ll tell you about services that I needed after a severe car accident. In 2017 I had a life threatening car accident and was air lifted from the scene to Kings College Hospital in London where I was in a coma for six weeks and in hospital for six months. I have lost count of the professionals who have said ‘you are lucky to be alive’. The care I had, the treatments, specialised surgery, nursing and support was exemplary in every respect. I salute the NHS and every professional I encountered. Fantastic.

Move on to home coming. More surgery, still wheelchair bound, wounds still healing. yes district nurses assisted enormously.

For the next 18 months I needed hands on help though. To say an angel entered my life at that stage would be an understatement. Do read my (now) wife’s story.

So, for the next seven years I gradually got mobile, started to walk again (no golf I’m afraid) and got back to business early. You should also know I lost a tremendous amount of weight (40kg) during this time, all thanks to my wife’s genius in food content and preparation, do read about that also. That will be the subject of another post.
